Ladies and gentlemen the results are in and it appears we have a new winner! Ahh, the power of the mobile search. “Where to buy, get, and find.” We all do it when that impulse buy fire ignites in our brain, and for some of us, it’s a raging inferno that cannot be extinguished when we want something. The first place we reach is in our pocket, purse, or fanny pack.

Let’s be honest for a second here, anything that makes everyday life easier is going to be a great idea. For example, Google’s self-driving car, Siri, Amazon, and the like. All of which reduce the amount of effort we as consumers have to do in order to get what we want NOW! We’ve become a microwave society (2 minutes – Done!).

According to Google, the fact of the matter is “more than half of all web traffic now comes from a smartphone or tablet.” So on your way home from a bar late at night you want to know what greasy street food you can find to help remove some of that alcohol from your bloodstream. That is called the “drunken search”. OR – It’s lunch time at work and your stomach is yelling at you for sustenance and you are getting more irritable by the minute so you grab your phone and look for fast delivery.

So what does all of this mean? Increasing mobile searches lead to more in store visits and ultimately a purchase. Adapting your business to the mobile world means staying in business because smartphones and the internet aren’t going anywhere, but your business will.
